Deckhand for Cruise Vessel (USA)

Job Description

Huring Summer College Program Deckhand starting in May for operation Washington, DC.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
-Provide exceptional hospitality to guests and coworkers.
-Follow safety procedures in order to ensure the protection of passengers and vessel.
-Handle lines to moor vessels to pier.
-Assist Captain and supervisory personnel in maintaining vessel equipment and systems such as HVAC, engine, and technical equipment.
-Maintain the cleanliness and safety of all common areas.
-Sweep, mop and wash down decks and exterior to remove dirt and debris, using brooms, mops, brushes, and hoses.
-Load and/or unload materials from vessels; gather and remove trash from vessel.


Requirements & Qualifications:
-Internship timeframe May – August
-High school diploma or equivalent required.
-Must be pursuing an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree.
-Available to work during the summer season
-Energetic and enthusiastic personality essential.
-Must be able to convey written and verbal information effectively to guests and coworkers.
-Will be required to be available for work on weekends and holidays.
