Welder

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Checks, services and maintains welding equipment in safe, working condition
Reports all items to Welding Superintendent (note in International Operations he reports directly to the OIM or Barge master) that are in need of repair or to be built
Coordinates with Welding Superintendent (again OIM) daily work schedule and establish priorities
Coordinates with Welding Superintendent (again OIM) orders for welding equipment and supplies to ensure proper charges
Maintains clean and safe working area and sure all oxygen and acetylene bottles are secured at all times
Instructs helpers in the proper use of tools and safety equipment

Reports to Welding Superintendent (again OIM) complete details of all work performed for third parties to ensure proper charges
Shall ensure hazardous waste is separated and disposed of appropriately. (Gulf of Mexico only)
Education, Training, and Experience to satisfy essential job functions:

Required:

Demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education
High school diploma or equivalent. Work experience and demonstrated ability of oral and written communications may be substituted in lieu of formal education.
Valid 6-G welding certification and a minimum of one year experience welding, fitting, fabrication, and welding high-pressure pipe works to
Understands and is proficient in the Enterprise Offshore Preventative Maintenance System
Works well with third parties and supports the maintenance department and drill crew in all rig activities
