JOB SUMMARY
The Motorman works under the direction of the Mechanic monitoring operation and performing
maintenance and repair of rig main engines and auxiliary systems. Implement and uphold safety
and environmental compliance requirements. Perform general housekeeping duties and material
preservation in the engine room. Assist the Mechanic in routine maintenance and repair of rig
drilling, auxiliary, and support systems to meet operational requirements as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. 1 year of experience working on 6 gen offshore drill floor
3. Good safety record from past operations
4. Familiar with HSE practices common to the industry and the company
5. Familiar with application of the HSE Management System and continuous improvement
6. Completion of all training requirements for previous position
7. For position on Drillship applicant will need USCG/Flag QMED Document.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
? Assist in ensuring that incomplete repairs and projects are finished within the scheduled time of
completion in order to keep a backlog of work to a minimum.
? Assist in ensuring that equipment failure is kept to a minimum and within contractual limits.
? Maintain good two-way communication with crew members.
? Assist to ensure entries on permits, isolation tags and logs accurately reflect the current status of
equipment.
? Participate in the development of newly appointed team members.
? Participate in company approved and recommended training as required both on and offshore.
? Ensure compliance with Noble's HSE Management System thus allowing for safe, efficient
operations.
? Must complete orientation process and be familiar with all company safety policies and
procedures as outlined in the safety handbook.
? Safely and efficiently perform all duties assigned by the Rig Maintenance Supervisor or
Mechanic.
? Ensure the motor room is kept clean and all equipment is properly stowed.
? Attend and participate in pre-tour, post tour and special operations and weekly safety meetings.
? Ensure all maintenance operations are proceeding in a safe manner, and responsible for
correcting or notifying responsible persons of any unsafe acts and/or conditions which exist.
? Perform preventative maintenance in accordance with the preventative maintenance program
under the direction of the Chief Engineer, 1st Engineer, Mechanic and Rig Maintenance
Supervisor.
? Maintain the engine room daily operating logs.
? Ensure all compound components are regularly oiled and lubricated, and appropriate rotations
made.
? Perform general maintenance around the engine room area keeping motor room and machinery
spaces clean and painted.
?Assist the Mechanic, Electrician, Rig Maintenance Supervisor, 1st Engineer and Chief Engineer in
maintaining all rig power generating equipment and drives, blowout manifold, accumulator and
lines, and all air, fuel, water, cooling and heating systems.
? Report on parts, tools and supplies needed to maintain the equipment for which one is
responsible.
? Assist other crew members as needed directed by the Rig Maintenance Supervisor or requested
by the Driller or Rig Manager.
