Piping / Flow Control Engineer II for Oil & Gas Project (Saudi Arabia)

Job Description

Qualifications & Experience:

· Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering.

· Previous years of experience with drilling contractor, marine contractor / shipyard, or EPC Consulting engineer.

Skills:

· Able to work independently and within team environment.

· Good knowledge of engineering fundamentals and performing offshore and yard rig visits, preventive maintenance and technical recommendations for piping, mechanical components and pressure vessels including reverse engineering calculations, Pipeline and pumps sizing as per the requirements.

· Ability to gather and analyze/synthesize data, confirming its accuracy and adequacy as an integral part of the collective analysis/synthesis process.

· Excellent communication (both oral & written), Technical writing & reporting, and negotiation skills.

· Demonstrates effective leadership and influential skills and practices.

· Effective risk management, decision making, and problem solving.

· Multi-tasking ability with Can-do Attitude.

· Knowledge of financial accounting, purchasing, and management systems.

· Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel at an advanced level (use financial and logical functions; work with multiple worksheets and workbooks; edit and use macros; import and export information).

· Proficiency in AutoCAD and design analysis, flow calculation, selection of equipment, and other major components. Knowledge about ANSYS pipe stress analysis and Pipe flow software.

· Capability to run hand calculations based on API, ASME, AISC, ABS & DNV, which can govern for piping, pump, and mechanical component sizing and selection.

· Familiar with welding calculations, NDT techniques, verification of NDT reports, and gauging calculations while applying AWS / CSWIP rules.

· Experience in offshore environmental Piping (erection, testing, and final acceptance).

· Working knowledge of document control systems and databases like SAP.

· Sound knowledge on IMO MODU Code(s), Major Class & Flag rules & standards, and internal offshore equipment manufacturing and testing standards such as, ANSI, ASME, NFPA, API, ABS, ASTM, AISC, EN, ISO and Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards / Specifications, etc.

· Good project management and organizational skills with strong technical decision-making skills associated with any given scope of work leadership abilities.
